Cogeneration - Operational Review

Operational review identifies $200k from minor procedure changes

Boorom conducted a 4-month efficiency review at Norwalk Hospital’s 2.5-megawatt gas turbine cogeneration plant. Boorom’s analysis of plant operations, which delivers both electrical and thermal energy resulted in an annual savings of $200,000. In addition, our findings lead to developing a strategic energy plan for future building developments.

Norwalk Hospital

Norwalk Hospital operates a 2.5 megawatt gas turbine cogeneration plant for the delivery of both electrical and thermal energy to the facility.
In an effort to assure maximum return for the investment Boorom was asked to review the existing operating strategy and recommend changes which would generate greater net benefit from little or no investment. Our four month review identified several operational procedures resulting in a net bottom line of $200,000 annually. In addition, our findings set the stage for developing a strategic energy plan for future building development.
