Boiler Replacement - Design Build

Pfeiffer University gets new boiler plant at their Merner Gymnasium facility.

Boorom designed and built a new heating system for the Merner Gymnasium at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina.

Boorom replaced the old 200hp number 6 fuel oil steam boiler with a more efficient and flexible 2-boiler system. The new system operates on number 2-fuel oil and is equipped with controls that automatically modulate and allow equal runtime for both boilers.

The new system incorporates a new domestic water loop system, optimizing the generation of hot water for the locker rooms and restrooms.

Pfeiffer University

Originally built in 1978, Merner Gymnasium at Pfeiffer University operated a 200hp no. 6 fuel oil steam boiler. In need of significant repairs the University decided to demolish the old plant and build a more efficient and flexible 2 boiler system.

The new system operates on number 2 fuel oil and is equipped with controls which automatically modulate and give equal run time to both boilers.

Boorom designed and built the new system incorporating a new domestic water loop system which optimizes the generation of hot water for the locker rooms and restroom areas.
